Kolejliler ve liseliler arasında sınıf çatışmalarının yaşandığı bir ortamda, sınıf farklılıkları tanımayan bir aşkın hikayesi. Genç kız ve arkadaşları kolejli, genç kızın aşık olduğu çocuk ise bir devlet lisesi öğrencisidir ve bu eksende taraflar devamlı çatışma halindedir. Yaşanan bu çatışmaların yanısıra, gençlerin aşkına engel aile faktörü vardır. İlk Türk gençlik-dram filmi olan Ayakta Kal, zaman zaman güldürürken zaman zaman ağlatmayı hedefliyor.
